Rappold Project

This pool holds a special place in my heart as not only was it the first pool I ever built, but it was our personal pool.

My dad enlisted his four sons to build our first pool. We handled every aspect of the pool except for the gunite and plaster. From then on, I was the guy in the neighborhood that would change out pumps, repair parts, etc. on all my neighbor’s pools.

A few years after I graduated college at Loyola University in New Orleans, I formed Oasis Pools and Spas.

Here’s where it gets interesting, sad and exciting. Both of my parents passed away while still owning the house. We sold the house to a builder who remodeled it for five years. He then sold the house to a young couple. The new owners hired me to reimagine the backyard with no limits. I felt extremely blessed to be chosen as the pool builder to do this as it was my former home.

My sons and I were equally as excited as they grew up swimming in that pool. Now working for Oasis Pools and Spas this project would have them envisioning a new backyard very different from the one they grew up swimming in.

Myself and my sons, Michael and Nicholas went to the house and came up with an initial idea. Being that I knew the house very well and was part of the entire house remodel we knew what type of pool and backyard we had to create to complement the beautiful home. We met with the new homeowners and they approved the vision immediately.

The exterior of the house was a white painted brick so we knew he had to build something that wouldn’t clash with the white. We chose Ice White Marble for the coping and decking. To incorporate the house’s architectural style into our project, we constructed a raised wall using the same brick material and painted it white.

The overall project consists of a pool, spa, bubblers, custom mosaic in pool floor, aggregate plaster, marble coping and decking, painted brick wall with a powerfall and fire bowls, LED lights, putting green, BaduJet Turbo Pro swim system, and a basketball court.
